Aflatoxin, a common Mycotoxin is Genotoxic in nature. Codex Alimentarius Commission has publicized maximum permissible levels of Mycotoxins in Human Food. Enterotoxin is a microorganism secreted exotoxin that targets the gastrointestinal system. This causes Type-A food poisoning, antibiotic associated diarrhea and other gastrointestinal diseases. Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus cereus are the two most common organisms for enterotoxins and food poisoning in dogs and humans.
